Zou Kov and his band made their way north, planning to return to the barbarians' homeland. Athelstan and Teragram accompanied them; the former hoped to convert some of the benighted inhabitants, the latter beacuase it was further from Cambaris. Nearing their destination they met a group of warriors, who they recognised as belonging to a neighbouring tribe. The leader of the band, Taulfan, prevailed upon Zou Kov to help them. He explained how land had been invaded by sea by a force of heavily-armed and well-organised warriors known as The Knights of the Dust, who appeared to be motivated by both greed for land and religious fervour for a murdered god - although Taulfan was not clear about this last point. The invaders had defeated the barbarians, enslaved those who could not escape, and had built a formidable castle. The natives had gradually rallied and now, after a year, were preparing an attack upon the castle. Taulfan had no clear plan of action apart from using his band of raiders to harass enemy outposts. When he told Zou Kov that the invaders had established a perimeter of outposts around the territory they had seized, each with a beacon that would be lit to alert the others and bring help, Zou Kov suggested an ambitious plan to raid right to the gates of the castle itself. The first step would be to breach that perimeter by taking one of those outposts before its beacon could be lit. Zou Kov committed his warband to that task.

Guard: Quality 4+ Combat 3 Heavy Armor, Short Move @ 23 x 5
Sergeant: Quality 3+ Combat 3 Heavy Armor, Leader, Short Move @ 60 x 1
Guards are 1/2 the points of the attackers.
One is with the beacon. One and the leader are in the hut. The other three are dotted around. From the moment the alarm is raised - a figure without Stealth is in line of sight - the beacon can be lit. Add one counter to it when a guard is adjacent to it and spends one action to feed it. Only one counter can be added each turn. Once six are in place it is fully alight and the signal is visible.
